ooc: Well, this is basically just a story introducing Gretta to everyone, but of course anyone can join and give her news of Willow or Gabriel or whatever. I just wanna write this down before I forget.

bic: The faint growling of dogs echoed around the large, antique hall and through the thick wooden door. The dogs were hungry. That much was apparent by the deep growls which seemed to emanate from their souls.

But when the guards opened the doors and dropped Iris inside, there were no dogs and the growling stopped immediately. The red carpet that Iris was crouching on was dusty and made her sneeze twice. The dust swirled through the air, reflecting the torch light, looking like little fireflies. They mesmerized Iris, and the girl almost forgot why she was here.

Until she heard it.

"I heard you'd be coming."

Iris jumped when she heard the bell-like voice which was too perfect for a human's and distinctly child-like. She looked up through her brown eyes and saw the girl. A tiny, pale girl that was draped over the arms of her throne lazily, one arm hanging off the edge and the other thrown over her stomach, a teddy bear's arm clutched tightly in her little fingers.

"Uh, hello," Iris said awkwardly, standing up and crossing the room to the Lady herself. "I'm Iris Shea. I was... captured."

--

Gretta looked Iris over, waiting for her to finish her thought before noticing that the girl was waiting for something. What was she waiting for...? What had she just said? I'm Iris Shea. I was... captured. Oh! Iris was waiting for Gretta to introduce herself, something that Gretta hadn't done in a good eight hundred years.

"My name is Gretta..." Gretta paused, searching her mind for a long-lost name. "My name is Gretta Pace-Pacella." The name felt weird, rolling over her tongue in a most unsatisfying way. "But call me Gretta."

Iris nodded once, then opened her mouth to speak, but seemed to think better of it and closed her mouth again. Gretta waited, pulling the teddy bear up to her chest and hugged it.

"What? What were you going to say?" Gretta demanded, running a hand through her thick, dark brown curls.

"Well, I wanted to know why I'm here." Iris stammered, obviously terrified of the vampyre-child.

"You're here because I want you to be a vampyre," Gretta replied, twirling one loose curl around her finger and looking absently to the ceiling.

"What if I don't want to be a vampyre?" Iris challenged and put her hands on her hips. Gretta rolled her eyes and sighed, completely bored.

"Then I set my Vampyre Hounds on you." Two vampyres came out with four small, coyote sized dogs with extremely elongated snouts on leashes and collars. They were growling and straining on their leashes, trying to get to Iris.

"Wh-what are those things?" Iris asked, stumbling backwards wide wide eyes.

"Didn't I just tell you? They're my Vampyre Hounds!" Getting no obvious understanding, Gretta continued. "You might know it as an El Chupacabra. The Goat Sucker. Originally from Mexico, they suck the blood out of anything that could move. They moved up to Texas in the 1990's and that's when I sent my favorite vampyres after it. I absolutely needed it, you see! Look at them!" Gretta watched Iris's eyes glide towards the Vampyre Hounds with their wrinkled grey skin and glowing, red eyes. They're exceptionally long back legs and rather short front legs in comparison. "They're beautiful!" From the look on Iris's face, Gretta could tell that she thought they were anything but, and Gretta saw what she was getting at. They were actually disgusting. Like a kangaroo-coyote mix with mange and irritated eyes. But the sheer fact that Gretta had one made them beautiful.

"That one's Fluffy, that's Bunny, that one's Cotton Candy and that last one is Steve," Gretta said, pointing to each one in turn. Bunny growled darkly and lunged at Iris, who backed up in terror and stumbled, sprawling onto the ground.

"You're choice. Cotton Candy hasn't drank anything in quite some time!" Gretta warned and Iris nodded.

"How does this work?" she asked and Gretta pointed to a door behind her throne.

"I'll meet you back there later. Right now, me and Teddy want to be alone! Everyone out!" Gretta whined, with no hint of a threat but completely an innocent child. When no one moved, she raised her voice. "OUT!" The castle shook and everyone was out of that room as fast as they could possibly move.

"So, Teddy, how was your day?" Gretta asked, poking Teddy's nose and smiling widely.

Tucker had come in on his own accord, without waiting for stupid replies from the guards Gretta kept outside her castle. He moved quickly, and caught the sharp scent of blood. Someone was feeding somewhere, but that was none of the vampyre lords concerns. He had to get word to her, and quickly. He passed a girl on the way to Gretta's main chamber, a very frightened human girl. Tucker gave her a slight, almost friendly nod, and paused, looking her over. Either a sheep for Gretta or a soon to be vampyre. He moved on, the steel toes of his boots clicking on the stone floor of Gretta's mansion

Before Gretta's companion could reply, there was a loud, sharp rap on the great doorway, a sound the resonated throughout the chamber. Tucker didn't wait for her to allow him in. He was, after all, one of the top lords. If anyone owed him an audience, it was Gretta.

"Gretta," he called sharply. That stupid stuffed being, with it's blank eyes, was held in her arms. At heart Gretta was, and always would be, a child. Narrowing his own eyes, he brushed hair out of his face and looked at her. "It's been a long time," he murmured. "I see you still keep...pets," he finished. He'd passed the pack of vampyre hounds on the way in as well, who had not given a typical canine response and had growled at him. Only the fact that he needed to speak with Gretta kept him from tearing out their throats.

As Tucker entered the chamber, Gretta looked up from Teddy in a very annoyed way.

"Excuse me!" she exclaimed, thrusting her chin into the air defiantly. "I was busy!" She grunted in defiance and crossed her delicate arms. "And I'd like you to knock before entering! Didn't your mommy ever teach you manners?" A tiny pink tongue poked out through her lips and she looked up at Tucker in a very sad way.

"And yes, I do keep my pets. Pretty, aren't they?" she asked, her mood suddenly changing from grumpy to proud. Ah, the mood swings of a seven year old.

With a click of Gretta's fingers, the guards brought forth another Vampyre Hound, a snake with two heads, a rather large ferret and a rabbit with over sized fangs growing out of it's lips.

"Tucker, I would like you to meet Nora, Liza, Nala and Joe. Aren't they precious?" Without dropping her bear, Gretta crossed the room on tiny feet and petted Nora's head. Her furless skin was grey and wrinkly and completely unappealing, but Gretta petted her anyway, lulling the beast with a short, soft lullabye. Nora's eyelids drooped and she swayed on her paws.

"But you're not here to talk about my lovelies. What are you here for?" Gretta shot up, her brown curls raining down around her angelic face. "I don't get social calls too often."

Tucker restrained a grimace of disgust, his glowing eyes sweeping casually over the 'lovelies'.

"Of course not, Gretta," Tucker said stiffly. He inclined his head slightly, completely leaving aside her earliest comments, and continued with business. Nora's lip curled slightly as Tucker took a few steps forward but no growl rumbled from the hounds throat. Thoroughly disgusted, Tucker turned his head back to the child, if one could call her that.

"I understand you are a great collector of...oddities. And I have something for you," he explained. "At least, information, about this certain being. Several nights ago, I took in three siblings. One of them blooded fine, as normal, but the second has fled my estate, and he seems to have...rebelled against the vampyre blood. I'm keeping his sister as hostage for the time being to prevent attacks against my wolves, but otherwise, I want nothing to do with him. I thought you might be interested in a rebel. You have collected several..."

"Next, I have a question. Who was the young human girl, the one I just passed in the hall. She looked slightly...alarmed," Tucker said coolly, for want of another word.

ooc- Sorry, not feeling very literate at the moment.

ooc- It's okay. I'm never literate.

bic- Trying her very hardest not to look to interested, Gretta put her hands behind her back, humming a bit and looking up to the ceiling. She paced back and forth, putting on the act that she was considering this. Well, she was. She had made several sour mistakes when it came to adding to her magnificent collection, and she had learned from each one. Like the fact that twenty of her strongest lycans and vampyres were not quite worth that blasted koala! So what if they were very nearly extinct. It was boring and slow and didn't even have a tail.

Gretta stopped pacing and whirled around to face Tucker, hands on her hips, Teddy's right paw clamped tightly in her hand. She'd made up her mind.

"Besides a vampyre who might or might not be a treasure, and is certainly known to have behavioral problems, what do i get out of this?" Gretta asked. The way she saw things, rebel vampyres were rare and irresistible, but if she was going to let some monstrous thing into her house she wanted to know as much as possible. She was not about to cut a bad deal again. Besides, she had never tried her singing on a vampyre or human before and she doubted that she could subdue them by singing a tiny little lullabye.

Tucker watched her pace on the floor, her eyes fixed on the ceiling, and a smile twitched on his pale lips. So, she wanted to play that game. So like a child.

"Behaviorial problems? I wouldn't call it that. He just doesn't like me. If you were to say...entice him, with false promises, he might be entitled to join you for his own gain. I know you have your ways Gretta, you might be able to twist him to your own uses, and I'm sure you will."

"Second, I'm here to inform you of a rogue lycan. She is not bound, as far as I know, and this is dangerous. She can break binds if she wants. There is also word of a murderous human, a mortal, I know, but he has destroyed several of my scouts. I want to warn you of him, you should keep an eyes on your borders...." The smile had vanished.

Tucker gave a slight, almost mocking bow, and turned away. "If you aren't interested in the boy, I will be shortly sending out a team to kill him. It won't take much, I imagine, unless he has powers I haven't found yet. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me."

"Nonono!" Gretta quickly cut Tucker off. "There's really no need for that." Gretta smiled sweetly. "I'd be quite happy to take him!" And her! Gretta felt promise in the idea of this unbound wolf-girl. And this human, the one who had gone on a killing spree of Tucker's scouts was certainly worth checking out. As a vampyre, who knew what it could do?

It. Just like all of her special little friends were all 'its' as well. Playthings. Toys. Pets to keep her entertained. Like puppies or kittens. Or fish.

Yes, fish was just about right. Interesting for the first day or so, but quickly boring.

But these new additions would not be boring after twenty-four hours. They'd still be her fun little monkeys that would jump when she said jump and kill when she said kill.

And the best part would be, Gretta could stay in her castle the whole time, completely protected by her Vampyre Hounds and Werebunnies. And of course her guards.

Running a hand over the brown fur of Teddy's head, Gretta raised her eyebrows at Tucker. "If that is all...?" She trailed off. Hopefully, he would have enough sense to leave when she wanted him gone. No one disobeyed Gretta. Especially not with Blood Cats, Vampyre Hounds, Werebunnies, rattlesnakes, eagles, wild boars, Hell Hounds, and even the three headed dog Gretta had so aptly named Cerberus watching the room.
